Forced by my husband (affectionately, and sometimes venomously, nicknamed Mr. Efficiency in our house), we have been a carryon only family since 2018. The hardest for me are the hair products I can’t find in travel size and can’t decant, and….SUNSCREEN. Well, Godspeed. You’ve got this! Cant wait to read the tips you’ll drop on this subject later.
I thought it was just me. Thank you for sharing this and I am eagerly awaiting your packing list. We are going to Greece in September and I’m already imagining the beautiful dresses I’ll never pull out of my bag and the shoes that seemed like a great idea.
I need to borrow your friend, Sanja, I could’ve written this piece. 🫣 My bag is always the one that gets the HEAVY stickers all over it. The poor drivers, my husband & my shoulder would thank me. I fantasize about being able to pack light! It’s a goal for my next trip! Let us know how it goes!
Packing appropriately is always a challenge for me, although I have improved greatly as we travel more. About 5 years ago we travelled for a month: a few days in Italy where we met up with our travel buddies who have a place in Terracina, ferry to Palermo and a few days in Sicily, then a magnificent cataraman sail through the Aeolian islands for a week. Then flew to Athens for a few days, then ferry to Sifnos for a week. I learned how to pack light and had more than enough clothes. You can do it!! And Sifnos is magical, you will love it. Curious why you travel in the summer since you don’t have school schedules to consider??

I’m so happy you are on Substack!
Also anxious to see how the boat situation plays out. I’m not a fan of boats.
